Dear Colleagues,

We have the great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 5^th International EDHF Symposium. Endothelium, Vasoactive Factors and Inflammation, which will take place in Tampere, Finland, on June 24-27, 2008.

The programme will include state-of-the-art lectures to be given by invited speakers on a wide range of topics, including vascular biology of the endothelium and smooth muscle, ionic control of vascular tone and intercellular communication, extracellular matrix and vascular remodelling, NO and reactive oxygen species, and inflammation. In addition, more clinical aspects will also be covered, including investigation of vascular tone in humans, hypertension genetics, and novel treatment modalities.

Tampere is located 175 km to the north of Helsinki, Finland, and is easily accessible with direct flight connections, and frequent railway and bus links. The symposium venue Congress Centre Hotel Scandic Rosendahl is located just 2 km outside the Tampere city centre in a beautiful lakeside setting, and the date of the symposium is particularly convenient to allow foreign visitors to enjoy the Finnish summer at its best.
