Congress language
Official congress language is English. No interpretation will be arranged.

Passport and Visa
A valid passport (or official identification card with photo from Nordic and EU countries) is needed when travelling to Finland. A visa is required when travelling from certain countries. More information on visa application from your local authorities and from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (www.formin.fi).

Travelling to Tampere
Tampere is easily reached with direct flights from several countries. Over 20 airlines fly to Helsinki, connecting flight to Tampere 30 min, by train 90 min. Read more.

Currency, bank and money exchange
The official currency in Finland is euro (EUR). Hotels and shops accept most major credit cards. Money can be exchanged and traveller's cheques cashed in banks (open hours mon-fri 9.30-16.00) or in exchange agencies (e.g. Forex in Tampere city centre, open hours mon-fri 9.00-19.00, sat 9.00-15.00).

Tipping
Service is included in all restaurant prices and taxi fares.

Electricity
The electricity supply in Finland is 220V (230V), 50 Hz. A two-pin plug system is used.

Weather
The weather in Tampere in June is mostly warm with more than 18 hours of daylight per day.

Time difference
The time in Finland is 1 hour ahead of Central European Time (CET) and 2 hours ahead of GMT.

Insurance
The registration fee does not include any insurance.
